Background of the Study
Online library tutorials have emerged as innovative instructional tools that provide guidance on navigating digital resources and enhancing information literacy skills. At Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State, these tutorials play a critical role in familiarizing students with online databases, e-journals, and digital repositories. This study evaluates the effectiveness of online library tutorials in fostering information literacy, examining how these digital tools contribute to improved research skills and academic performance (Olabisi, 2023). The integration of online tutorials into the library support system has the potential to democratize access to information and facilitate self-directed learning. As digital content proliferates, the ability to discern reliable academic sources is more important than ever. This research examines tutorial design, accessibility, user engagement, and the challenges encountered during implementation. The study also considers students’ feedback and usage patterns, with the goal of identifying best practices that can enhance the instructional value of online library tutorials (Sola, 2024). Overall, the findings are expected to guide improvements in online library services and contribute to the broader effort of advancing information literacy within digital academic environments.

Statement of the Problem (150 words)
Despite the availability of online library tutorials at Redeemer’s University, many students continue to experience difficulties in achieving high levels of information literacy. Limited interactivity, outdated content, and insufficient follow-up support have contributed to suboptimal outcomes, hindering students’ ability to effectively utilize digital research resources (Temilade, 2023). This gap between tutorial design and student needs results in underutilization of online library services and reduced academic performance. The challenge lies in identifying areas where current tutorials fail to address the diverse learning styles and needs of students. Addressing these issues is crucial for ensuring that online library tutorials effectively enhance information literacy skills and support academic success (Uche, 2024).
